Perth Beaches - Surfing

One of the most popular surfing beaches is Scarborough Beach, Perth. During summer, thousands flock for a cooling swim in the Indian Ocean. Try some body boarding, windsurfing or kite surfing. Please always swim between the red and yellow flags for your own safety. Scarborough Beach was the choice for the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships in 2007.

For experienced surfers looking for that incredible wave, head out to Rottnest Island, especially Rotto Box and Chicken Reef. These beaches have reef surf and a popular four-star rating as does Bullets Beach, also on Rottnest Island. In fact, the whole island is car-free, and with over 63 beaches, a bike will help you find the best beach of the day. Trigg Point has some point breaks well worth a look. Swanbourne Beach is another great beach for experienced surfers looking for some beach breaks.

There are many more beaches in Perth for the enjoyment of all surfers. Try City Beach, with its white sand and sculptured lawns for the barbecue at the end of a great day.
